October in Pink!

INNOVATIONS

October 10 marks an important date in the calendar with the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Association’s annual Pink Walk to spread the word about Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Held in the lovely surrounds of the Peak Road Garden, it encourages families, friends, colleagues and even four legged friends to take part. Proceeds go towards education on breast health, patient support and of course research to continue the fight against the disease.

Pink is the colour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the annual global campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer, so there’s no better excuse to raid the wardrobe”

Participants are asked to come dressed in pink to spread the message further – and maybe even win the best dressed prize! A team from Hotel ICON will once again be joining the walk, while for the month the hotel’s logo even changes to

pink too!

Dressing in pink is also the order of the day on ‘Dress Pink Day’, another great opportunity for people across Hong Kong to raise awareness and funds to support women with breast cancer. Pink is the colour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the annual global campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer, so there’s no better excuse to raid the wardrobe!

Pink Revolution is the Cancer Fund’s annual breast cancer awareness and fundraising campaign. It aims to promote the importance of early detection and raise funds for free breast cancer support services.

Finally, Shop for Pink means the perfect excuse to break out the wallet for retail therapy! More than 20 famous brands are supporting Pink Revolution with exclusive offers across fashion, jewelry, accessories, lifestyle, beauty and dining. Part of the proceeds from sales go towards the Cancer Fund’s free breast cancer services.

Dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis and preparing for treatment can be a traumatic experience as patients often feel fearful, anxious and overwhelmed by their diagnosis. The Cancer Fund’s registered social workers, registered nurses, art therapist, dieticians and professionally trained volunteers have all the information patients need about diagnosis, treatment options and potential side effects. They also offer resources on recovery and rehabilitation, psycho therapeutic support, family workshops and nutrition and wellness.
