Smart City, Smart Mobility Conference 2019
Following the success of the inaugural Future Electric Vehicle Leaders Circle in May 2018, Hotel ICON together with Charged Hong Kong are thrilled to be organising the Smart City, Smart Mobility Conference- expanding the discussion to cover a key topic in an ever more dynamic world.
The upcoming Smart City, Smart Mobility Conference 2019 will be held in the morning on Tuesday, 21st May 2019, at Hotel ICON.
Hotel ICON aims to organise an event to provide stakeholders, as well as the general public with a local platform to engage with this topic, and to further explore technology and best practices for turning a smart city plan into reality. The Conference will be focusing on smart mobility or transportation, an area that has seen some of the greatest transformations in recent years.
Building on the success of previous events over the past seven years, Hotel ICON, a thought leader in hospitality innovation once again presents an ideal platform for industry networking, sharing tips and advice, gaining knowledge and skills and learning about the latest technologies and solutions related to Smart City, Smart Mobility.

Mark Webb-JohnsonCo-founder and Chairman
Mark Webb-Johnson is the co-founder and chairman of Charged Hong Kong, a local charity supporting the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles. Born in Hong Kong, he passionately advocates for improvements in our Air Quality, environment and quality of life. Having driven EVs here for more than seven years, Mark has witnessed the growth of the industry, and believes that we’ve reached a tipping point for EV adoption. Helped by Government support, as well as manufacturers such as Tesla, BMW, Nissan, Renault, and others, Hong Kong has started on the road to mass adoption of plug in electric vehicles. Charged Hong Kong is here to help support and accelerate that process, so that residents of Hong Kong can enjoy the accompanying improvements to our air quality and environment. |

Edmond ChanSenior Systems Engineering Manager
Mr. Edmond Chan has joined CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd. since 1996 and has experience on several disciplines including Electrical Commissioning, Electrical Maintenance, Electrical Testing, Electrical Workshop Services, Smart Grid, Power Quality and Electric Mobility. He is currently the Senior Systems Engineering Manager and leads the Power Quality and Electric Mobility Team in CLP Power. He is responsible in providing various power quality services to customers, and the development & deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure for public use. Project highlights include the launch of the first electric vehicle DC quick charger and the first multi-standard quick charger for the Hong Kong market. The CLP Power charging network now has 161 chargers which included 134 semi-quick and 27 DC quick chargers. |

Kevin TsuiAssociate Professor, John E. Walker Department of Economics
Kevin Tsui received his PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago. His research interests are Public Economics and Regulation, Industrial Organization, International Political Economy, Natural Resource and Environmental Economics. He was a visiting fellow of the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research. Recently, Tsui has awarded the Lone Mountain Fellowship from the Property and Environmental Research Center for his research on the resource curse, and the Krutilla Fellowship from the Resource for the Future for his research on the economics of climate change. He was invited to give a talk in the Petroleum: Prospects & Politics conference held in the University of Chicago. Recently, he has also been invited to give speeches in the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong regarding the economic and environmental implications of fuel mix policy in the Hong Kong electricity sector. Tsui is also a regular columnist for the Hong Kong Economic Journal, am730, and Apple Daily. |

She has strong expertise in strategic planning, partnership management, sales operations with an emphasis on improving efficiency and productivity to drive results. Julian de JonquieresSr. Manager, Business Development, Supercharger
Julian de Jonquieres is the Charging Manager - APAC for Tesla, the Silicon Valley based electric vehicle manufacturer. His team is responsible for building partnerships with companies, organisations and utilities to expand Tesla's charging infrastructure and make the ownership of electric vehicles as convenient as possible for Tesla owners. Julian has worked across Asia for 12 years in China, Singapore and Hong Kong. He previously worked with Apple developing their education market and was part of the original team who rolled out the Apple Retail Stores in Hong Kong. |

Paul BromleyManaging Director
A passionate advocate of electro mobility with over 30 years automotive industry experience, Paul has strong views on the way forward for clean zero emissions transport. Now working as an independent consultant, Paul has focused on facilitating introduction of e-vehicles within a variety of markets including Hong Kong, SE Asia and Europe. As a Chartered Engineer with a degree in Automotive Engineering, previous employment has been with global companies such as Bedford, Goodyear, Leyland Trucks, GDEV as well as Alexander Dennis and its predecessor companies. Experience has included a variety of senior management roles such as New Product Introduction, Test & Development and Head of Engineering and he has personally conceived, championed and overseen the successful launch of many ground-breaking products such as the Dennis Dart, Rapier Fire Truck, Trident double deck & Enviro500Hybrid buses. |

Helena StormConsul General of Sweden to Hong Kong and Macau
From 2011 until taking up her current position in September 2015, Consul General Helena Storm was Chief of Staff for the Minister for Foreign Trade. From 2007 to 2011 Ms. Storm was posted as first secretary at the Embassy of Sweden to Turkey. Furthermore, she has worked for the Nordic-Baltic Task Force against trafficking in human beings and in the departments responsible for International Trade and International Development Cooperation. Helena Storm graduated from Uppsala University in Sweden with a Master of Laws and from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris in France with a Master of Political Science. She is also graduated from the University of Ankara in Turkish language. She is married and has three children. |

Magnus CarnwallCounsellor for Energy Affairs
Mr. Magnus Carnwall was appointed the Counsellor for Energy Affairs at the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing in mid-2018. Before he was an International Affairs Manager at the Swedish Energy Agency, a national government agency supporting commercialization and growth of energy related cleantech. The Agency also fund research for new and renewable energy technologies, smart grids, smart cities, vehicles and transport fuels of the future. The mission for the Swedish Energy Agency is to promote a sustainable energy system, working for a smarter use of energy. This is also the overarching aim of Mr. Carnwall’ s work in China, facilitating business opportunities between Chinese and Swedish stakeholders. Before moving to Beijing, Mr. Carnwall held the position as a Swedish delegate in the High-Level Steering Group of the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan and as a Swedish delegate to the International Energy Agency (IEA), in the Renewable Energy Working Party. |

Hon. Kenneth LeungMember of the Legislative Council
Kenneth Leung is a member of the Legislative Council representing the accountancy functional constituency since 2012. He has been a member of the Panel on Environmental Affairs since 2012. He has chaired committees to scrutinize bills and subsidiary legislation related to various environmental issues including air quality, fuel mix, waste charging and green finance. Kenneth is an advocate of the use of clean energy and clean transportation. He is also deputy chairmen of the public accounts committee, financial affairs committee and committee on rules of procedures. |

Cliff WuGeneral Manager
With over 9 years of extensive experience in engineering project management of electrical systems, telecommunication and broadcasting network infrastructure in a territory-wide scale, Cliff has been contributing substantially in formulating diversified electric vehicle (“EV”) charging solutions as well as developing the one-stop EV charging service platform ("E-Charge"). Under his leadership, his team has completed plenty of remarkable EV charging projects in the past few years and been working closely with governments, airports, power utilities, land developers, automakers and dealerships, (e.g. BMW, Porsche, Volkswagen, Tesla, BYD, Merecedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, Audi, Volvo, Renault, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, DFSK, etc.). Cliff is a committee member of the Advisory Group for Transport & Logistics under the Business Environment Council (“BEC”) and also a committee member of the Electric Vehicles Promotion and Charging Infrastructure Committee of the Hong Kong E-Vehicles Business General Association (“HKEVA”). |

Dr. Locky LawDirector of Education
Dr. Locky Law is the Director of Education of Charged Hong Kong and Senior Research Assistant of the Centre for Applied English Studies at the University of Hong Kong. He has been advocating for electric vehicles and educating the public about them on TV, radio, newspapers and the internet since 2015. He is the founder of the Best Tesla Model S-friendly Car Park Map, a crowd-sourced map that helps car owners locate Tesla-friendly car parks in the Greater Bay Area. His Map currently has over half a million views. Dr. Law holds a PhD in linguistics, MA in English language teaching and BSc in Computer Science. He was a visiting lecturer at the English Department of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. |

Alex WaiFounding Member
Mr. Alex Wai is one of the founding members of Charged Hong Kong. He is also a freelance contributor for INSIDEEVS covering Hong Kong and Asia region EV news since 2015. He is an EV owner and have great interest in sustainable transport and energy generation technologies. His career started in desktop publishing assisting a labor-intensive work force transitioning into a fully digital workflow on the Apple Macintosh platform. With the experience he continued his career in IT working in education, planning and deploying infrastructure technology that can improve student's learning experience as well as preparing them for the digital age. He later joined a global headhunting firm deploying technology across worldwide locations to enhance talent acquisition process before starting his own clinic business with his family. He hopes part of his experience can contribute in promoting the use of eco-friendly and sustainable solutions whether in consumer or commercial level that can help reduce the effects on climate change. |

Mark van KerkhofManaging Consultant
Mark van Kerkhof was responsible for the development of the new Electric Vehicle (EV) strategy in the Netherlands for the period 2015-2020. He consults for the Formula E-team, the Dutch public-private partnership in EVs. He was chairman and project manager responsible for the E-Mobility taskforce and chapter in the national fuel division, and secretary for the national taskforce on charging infrastructure. Mark managed the processes for the Dutch national agreements for zero emission public transit and taxi transport. Currently Mark is a lead strategist in the Energy and Climate section of APPM management consultants and co-director of the New Drive, a Belgian consultancy firm with a focus on sustainable mobility. |

Prof Shi Wenzhong, JohnHead of Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics and Director of Laboratory for Smart City and Spatial Big Data Analytics
Prof Shi is Chair Professor in Geographic Information Science (GISci) and remote sensing, Otto Poon Charitable Foundation Professor in Urban Informatics, Head for Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics, and Director of Laboratory for Smarty City and Spatial Big Data Analytics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He obtained his doctoral degree from University of Osnabrück in Vechta, Germany in 1994. Prof Shi’s current research interests are in the areas of GISci, remote sensing and urban informatics, with focusing on analytics and quality control for spatial big data, object extraction and change detection from satellite images and LiDAR data, integrated indoor mapping technology, 3D and dynamic GISci modelling, and Smart City applications. Prof Shi served as President of Commission II for International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (2008-2012), President for Hong Kong Geographic Information System Association (2001-2003). He also serves as an editorial board member for a number of international journals. He has published more than 250 journal articles (with 200 SCI papers) and 15 books. He received a number of prestige awards, including an award from International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and Natural Science Award from the State Council, China. |
