Malaysian Durian Festival 2024
The Malaysian Durian Festival, the highlight of each summer, is returning to Hotel ICON in July and August for brunch and dinner! Join us to celebrate the iconic annual festival this year with fresh durians, a wide spread of exotic durian-infused creations, authentic Southeast Asian live stations, chilled seafood and attractive prizes for an unforgettable experience.
This year, fresh durians will be opened on stage by our Executive Chef Danny using a durian peeling machine, offering the most authentic and delicious taste of flesh from imported durian varieties from Malaysia. Each guest will enjoy a platter of durian flesh with 5 varieties (children will enjoy 3 varieties). The platter includes the rich and creamy top-grade D197 Musang King, known as the "King of Kings" in the durian world, as well as the D200 Black Thorn, which is being served for the first time and boasts an extremely smooth texture and a strong sweet aftertaste. Additionally, there is the D24 Sultan, abundant in Penang, Malaysia, renowned for its thick and dense flesh with a velvety texture. Lastly, don't miss the opportunity to try two relatively rare and low-yield durian types in Hong Kong, the D88 and XO Durian.
Creative Durian dishes unlike any other, Executive Chef Danny partners with a TV celebrity chef to create the sweet and fragrant Mini Musang King Durian with Abalone Duck Soup, which is simmered for three hours using fresh duck meat and premium abalone, added with mini Musang King durian shells. The D197 Durian Cheese Baked Caribbean Lobster which combines hot and spicy cheese with sticky sweet Musang King durian is a must-try. Both items will be served to every individual guest.
The buffet table offers a variety of durian dishes in unlimited quantities, showcasing the skills and creativity of the chef team. The must-try durian dishes include Sabah Garoupa with Durian Toast, Deep-fried Seafood with D24 Durian in Tofu Skin, Durian Mango Salad with Spicy Sauce, Fried Fish with Durian Sauce, Crispy Cereal Prawn with Durian and Salted Egg, and more. Each dish is filled with the aroma of durian, making it truly mouthwatering.

Showcasing the rich creaminess of Musang King and D24 durian is an array of exciting sweet treats including Durian Ice Cream Cendol, Mini Dough Stick with Pandan Durian Kaya, Rice Noodle Roll With Durian Dough Stick, and Bake Durian With Mozzarella Cheese which you simply cannot resist. For durian enthusiasts, the must-try delicacies include the Portuguese Egg Tart with Durian & Mochi, Pandan Durian Roll, Durian Pudding, Durian Cream Puff, Durian Cheese Tart, and the irresistible Malaysian Durian Ice Cream. These delectable delights are meticulously crafted using generous amounts of premium durian pulp, resulting in a velvety smooth texture and an explosion of rich, fruity flavors that will immerse you in durian paradise.
Live cooking stations and a wide selection of Malaysian signatures including Penang Prawn Mee, Hokkien-style Bak Kut Teh, authentic Melaka Chicken Rice and Sotong Kangkung are meticulously created by Malaysian Chef Kelvin Lee and Chinese Chef Raymond Fung from our award-winning restaurant The Market for this special occasion. Guests can also indulge in unlimited chilled seafood, sashimi and sushi station, salad, cold dishes, luscious Häagen-Dazs ice cream, free-flow selected house wines, sparkling wines, juices and soft drinks.
